Project Background:
The pandemic has led to the generation of a large amount of virus-laden medical waste, with the healthcare system producing the highest volume and facing the most urgent demand. While frontline usage is critical, timely backend disposal is equally essential to prevent the spread of viruses. The high-performance dual-shaft shredder is used to crush items such as syringes, protective suits, goggles, and medical gloves. Plastic medical waste like syringes can be further shredded into small particles (ensuring the equipment is sealed to avoid aerosol dispersion). Thoroughly disinfected plastic fragments (e.g., polypropylene PP, polyethylene PE) can be handed over to licensed medical waste recycling companies for melting and regeneration, repurposing for non-medical uses (such as flower pots or plastic boards). Needles must be collected separately, with pathogens destroyed through high-temperature smelting (≥1200°C) before metal recovery. The remaining waste is sent to medical waste incineration plants for treatment.
